The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge is a basic business laptop. It is a sturdy and powerful machine with many of the tools you need to be productive and efficient while you're out of the office. However, we were disappointed with the lack of several tools, and many of them must be configured on the device, including Bluetooth technology and a built-in fingerprint reader. However, if you want a simple laptop and do not care about all of the bells and whistles, the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge is worth your consideration.

The design of this business laptop is very basic. It features a 15.6-inch display screen with 1366 x 768 resolution. The display is sharp and crisp, but if you are doing many multimedia tasks or spending the majority of your time working with images, this is not the highest-quality screen available.

This business laptop offers a six-hour battery life, which gives you an adequate amount of time to get your work done on a single charge. The six-hour life lets work on your computer while you're sitting in the airport or during long business meetings, but there are better options available.

The ThinkPad Edge features a 10-number keypad, which is an excellent addition to this device. It also features quick start capabilities, which makes powering up your computer a fast process. There is no built-in fingerprint reader available on this business laptop, but the option to configure one is available.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge received its highest marks for its performance. This is a very powerful computing device with many high-quality tools. This business computer features the Intel Core i3 processor with speeds of 2.3 GHz. This device also features Intel HD Graphics, which greatly enhance and improve the images on this laptop.

There is 4GB of RAM included on this computing device; however, you can upgrade this amount of memory to 8GB. There is also a 320GB hard drive available, but if you feel you need more storage space to better manage your important documents, you can upgrade to 750GB.

Another highlight of the ThinkPad Edge is all of the connectivity options it includes. There are a total of four USB ports located on the exterior of this computing machine, including three USB 2.0 ports and one USB 2.0/eSATA combo port. There is also a VGA port and an HDMI port. We were pleased to see an HDMI port available on such a basic laptop computer. This port allows you to connect to an HDTV or an HD monitor and enhances your viewing experience. There is also a memory card reader and all network connections such as Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Bluetooth capabilities must be configured onto the device and is not a standard feature, which we see as a drawback.

The company provides user guides and manuals with step-by-step directions for many of the processes on your computing device. Support forums are located on the Lenovo website that allow you to talk personally to other Lenovo users.
